Qualification Overview

1. Objective National Logistics Training (NLTC) has developed the qualification with
learning outcomes and assessments which have been developed specifically with in
compliance with Regulation EC 1071/2009.
The qualification is designed and intended to confirm that the holder has the required
knowledge and ability to be a transport manager of vehicles carrying goods by road.
This is by means of providing a regulated certificate of professional competence,
confirming the holder’s knowledge and ability to effectively perform continuous and
compliant management of undertakings, regardless of size or activity, within any
member state. 2. Who it is designed for.
The qualification is designed for persons who intend to apply for recognition as a
professionally competent person in order to obtain a standard operator’s licence for
goods vehicles.
3. Pre-Requisites
This qualification does not set any specific pre-requisite entry requirements; however,
in the learners interests it must be made clear that a standard of English and
Mathematics, equivalent to at least level 2, is strongly recommended.
Article 8 (2) of Regulation (EC) 1071 / 2009 requires that the examination should be
undertaken in the member state of which they have their normal residence, or in which
they work.
